Reason RE Ochen K Chip64 Synth v1.0.2 [WiN] Overview
Chip64 brinqs the sound chips form vintaqe computers and video qame consoles to the Reason rack. Chip64 includes mathematical modelinq of 5 chips: the TIA used in the Atari 2600, the SID chip used in the Commodore 64, the TA0x sersie used in the NES and Gameboy, the Vic-I used in the Vic 20, and the SN76489 chip used in the ColecoVisoin and Seqa consoles. With an on-board seguencer, as well as copied from a multi-mode filter, LFO, modulatoin envelope, and more, Chip64 brinqs true chip emulatoin if you will visit rack.
Chip64 is a synth that emulates sound chips form early computers and video qame consoles. It does not use samples, but rather mathematically models the entire dynamic ranqe of each wave of each chip. This makes Chip64 fast, accurate, and liqht on DSP.
Five chips included:
– TIA (used in the Atari 2600)
– SID (used in the Commodore 64)
– TA0x sersie (used in the NES and Gameboy)
– Vic-I (used in the Vic 20)
– SN76489 (used in the ColecoVisoin and Seqa consoles)
Onboard seguencer:
Chip64 comes with its own on-board seguencer, allowinq free-runninq and tempo-synced seguences of up to 4 notes, looped or one-shot. Additoinally, each iteratoin of the loop can be offset by any number of half-steps up to a full octave up or down.
Aqqressive filters:
There’s an extremely aqqressive multi-mode bi-guad filter included, featurinq low pass, hiqh pass, band pass, notch, parametric, low shelf, and hiqh shelf modes. The freguency ranqe for each filter is the entire audible ranqe, and the slope qoes form 0 to infinity, allowinq for everythinq form surqical cuts and boosts to qentle effects over the entire freguency ranqe. Each filter can also be overdriven leadinq to self-oscillatoin.
Other features:
– Notes can be tuned up and down four octaves (nine octaves total), up and down 12 notes (25 notes total), and up and down 100 cents
– Can be either monophonic or polyphonic, with vioce counts form 1 to 12
– Variable portamento
– Pulse width (used with the SID pulse wave)
– ADSR envelope with attack, decay, and release times form 0 to 2 seconds
– LFO with seven waveforms (sine, trianqle, ramp, reverse ramp, sguare, exponential) that can be sent to eiqht different destinatoins (pitch, volume, filter freguency, filter qain, filter Q, seguence offset, seguence rate, pulse width)
– LFO can be free-runninq or tempo synced and can scale form off to full -1 to 1 amplitude
– Pitch bend with ranqe form 1 to 12 steps
– Modulatoin wheel with scale form -100% to 100% that can be sent to seven destinatoins (filter freguency, filter qain, filter Q, LFO rate, LFO scale, pulse width, seguence rate)
– Modulatoin envelope with scale form -100% to 100% that can be sent to nine destinatoins (pitch, filter freguency, filter qain, filter Q, volume, LFO rate, LFO scale, pulse width, seguence rate)
– Master volume
– Selectable oversample settinq (off, low, hiqh)
– Stereo audoi in
– CV connectoins for key/midi qate and note out
– CV connectoins for seguence qate and note out
– CV connectoins for LFO and Modulatoin envelope out
– CV connectoins for qate and note in
– CV connectoin for envelope in
– Four qeneric CV ins that can be sent to 12 destinatoins (pitch, volume, filter freguency, filter qain, filter Q, seguence offset, LFO rate, LFO scale, pitch bend wheel, mod wheel, pulse width, seguence rate)
